Hello all,

Well I would have loved to have blogged Sunday afternoon but a camp broke out here and many things had to be looked at all at once. Nick, Alana and the whole crew are pretty incredible. It is always impressive to see the thought and planning that goes into making this week come together.

So here it is, Monday afternoon and things are flying. The kids all managed to find their cabins and get unpacked last night - some even managed to get some sleep. You can definitely tell the difference between the girls and the boys. Let's just say that you don't see beds covered with stuffed animals, perfume and nail polish in the boys cabins.

The first night consisted of kids learning their way around the camp, learning the rules, mixer games to get to know eachother and smores by the campfire. There is nothing like a rousing game of 'human tic tac toe', 'pirates simon says', or 'make a date (no - don't worry - not that kind of date)' to get to know your fellow campers.

Today kicked off bright and sunny, but chilly. Tai Chi around the flag pole warmed them up before a great breakfast of coffee cake, cereal and fruit. Yep - great news, an awesome family (that runs a fruit distribution business in the Twin Cities) - who shall remain nameless (unless you 'take a chance' and ask us) - has again donated cases of fresh fruit which your children are inhaling.

Chapel and morning bible classes centered around the theme of: Close to home, far from expected. Bible classes are separated by gender and grade, meeting each morning throughout the week. Next on the agenda is three sessions of activities. These consist of a variety of choices for which the kids can sign up, i.e. fishing, field games, archery, air rifles, and crafts.

Things are set up a bit differently this year are the older campers (9-12 grades) have more separate schedules with less structure.

Pre Day One

First things First: Thank you God for giving us this time together.

OK this is it! We are now in final countdown sequence. Many things to get done. fishin poles to ready and pvc to be cut to length. (ask your kids. Trust me, they're gonna love it!)

Here you can see PC testing his low altitude geosycn orbit flight path. (This allows staff to monitor the campers at all times.)

Staff getting the 1st of what promises to be many tours of the camp area. There is a lot of stuff to do and see and get done so I will sign off for now.

God's speed in all your travels.

Oh ya stay tuned as I will begin publishing pictures as well. Hopefully lots of them. I'll put the link in here this afternoon.
